About Jason
"Therapy works best when it is honest, structured, and rooted in a strong therapeutic alliance."
Why I Do This Work
I came to therapy through my own experience with recovery. For years, I participated in twelve-step communities and witnessed firsthand how people change when they feel truly seen, held accountable, and supported without judgment. That experience taught me that healing doesn't happen in isolation—it happens in relationship, in honest conversation, and in spaces where people can be vulnerable without fear of being dismissed or misunderstood.
My time in the military and living abroad for over a decade shaped how I see people and systems. I learned that cultural context matters, that identity is complex, and that what looks like dysfunction from the outside often makes perfect sense when you understand someone's story. I also learned that structure, discipline, and clear expectations aren't cold—they're often what people need most when everything else feels chaotic.
I do this work because I believe relationships are where we either break or heal—and therapy, done well, can tip that balance toward healing.
I specialize in couples and families because that's where the stakes feel highest. When a relationship is struggling, it affects everything: sleep, work, parenting, self-worth. I've sat with couples who thought they were done, and I've watched them rediscover each other when given the right tools and a safe enough space to be honest. That's what keeps me in this field—not the theory, but the moment when someone realizes they're not broken, just stuck, and that there's a way forward.
Background & Training
I'm a pre-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist currently pursuing a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy, with a clinical focus on couples, families, addiction, and trauma recovery. My work is informed by both formal training and lived experience, allowing me to meet clients with a grounded, practical understanding of resilience, healing, and relational repair.
As a former Army service member who spent more than a decade living in Asia, I bring a multicultural perspective and a deep respect for diverse backgrounds, belief systems, and family structures. I have extensive experience working with individuals navigating addiction, trauma, and PTSD, and I'm actively advancing my specialization in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT).
My approach is systemic and attachment-informed, emphasizing connection, accountability, and meaningful change within relationships.
Clients often describe me as steady, direct, and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when it is honest, structured, and rooted in a strong therapeutic alliance. My goal is to create a space where people feel safe enough to examine difficult patterns while also feeling supported in building practical tools for everyday life.
